Strutting to no avail

I just had to share the delightful sight of the local peacock getting romantic this morning.

Posturing, dancing, cooing and being ignored by his potential love.

Poor man. All that effort and nothing. She is clearly too smart to fall for a good looking male, all show and no substance.

I chuckled all the way to the clinic.

    1. And noisy too. Its a bit disconcerting to be walking at night and hear a really loud honk above your head. They roost up high in the gum trees.

  2. Love that peacock Sue. I recently admired a show put on by a pair of turkeys called Thompson & Thompson (after the Tin Tin characters). They were very peacock-like- all puffy and showy!

    1. Hi Hutchy. Living here I tend to forget that it is spring. Its our buildup time. So I guess a young man's thoughts are turning to things romantic. Certainly the birds are very noisy at the moment. What a great set of names for the turkeys. Very apt.

  3. Too smart to fall for a good looking male??? I caught one for myself many years ago and delight in the fact that he is/was stunningly handsome. Always eye candy.
That peacock is a stunner. The female in your tale probably knew he could not do housework, bring home the dinner, or create a cosy love nest. Luckily my Mr Handsome has a few talents other than killer looks.
Now try repeating your comments to your beloved!!! You might have to weave a new story!

    1. Mine is one out of the box. Smart, caring and loving. Definitely not a silly peacock. (Do you think that will do it)
